Grants Manager

The Grants Manager supports the founder and executives with technical writing projects and raising funds for research in conservation and farm automation. 

Details

  • $25+ per hour (largely DOE)

  • Minimum of 20 hours per week

  • Remote position

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and compile relevant data sources and background information related to robotics and regenerative farming initiatives.

  • Coordinate with principal investigators, researchers, and subject-matter experts to gather and synthesize scientific and technical information.

  • Plan, prepare, and write research grant proposals and funding applications.

  • Oversee and manage the grant lifecycle, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and organizational objectives.

  • Conduct in-depth research to identify potential grant opportunities, evaluate eligibility requirements, and assess funding viability.

  • Ensure that grant-funded projects are implemented in alignment with the organization’s operational, programmatic, and financial goals.

  • Communicate regularly with relevant staff regarding upcoming deadlines, reporting requirements, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of grant obligations.

  • Oversee invoicing, accounting coordination, reporting, and administrative processes related to grant management.

  • Collaborate with the planning and finance departments to develop financial plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies for grant-funded programs.

  • Monitor and maintain documentation and compliance records associated with grant-funded programs.

  • Manage and coordinate fundraising campaigns, including platforms such as GoFundMe and Open Collective.

  • Maintain detailed records, documentation, and time tracking to ensure transparency, accountability, and accurate reporting.

Preferred Experience

  • Relevant degree such as Bachelor's, Master's, or Certificate in Technical Writing, Education, Administration, English, Communications, or Business (not required)

  • Background in robotics or sustainable agriculture

  • Experience with government programs such as USDA and NSF
