RSG Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator supports the founder and executives in providing social media content, marketing materials, event planning, and PR for Rancho San Gregorio and its resident startups.

Details

  • $25+ per hour (largely DOE)

  • Applicants must be comfortable commuting to our location in San Gregorio, CA, a minimum of 1 day a week

  • Flexible schedule; occasional weekends required

  • W2 or part-time contractor considered

Responsibilities

  • Media outreach and social media content creation

  • Implement strategies to promote product sales

  • Research and write press releases, blogs, and newsletters

  • Create written, graphic, and video content for the company websites, grant proposals, and fundraising campaigns

  • Arrange press conferences and publish articles

  • Plan and host events

  • Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce high-quality and error-free copywriting

  • Perform regular quality inspections of internal and external-facing media, branding, and protocols

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners and journalists, seek out media opportunities, and engage public audience

  • Facilitate internal and external diversity, inclusion, and community service initiatives

  • Develop optimization strategies that increase the company's search engine results rankings

  • Market product, career opportunities, events, and company values

  • Track time and expenses for profitability reports

  • Administrative duties as necessary

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, videography, film, or a related field (not required)

  • Demonstrated videography experience including knowledge of post-production techniques

  • Social media strategy and algorithms 

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Event planning

  • A portfolio of work available for review
